Did you know you can check you tax refund status online? The IRS and New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department have helpful links that let you find out when you can expect your refund!

Federal Income Tax Refund

Visit Where’s My Refund?

To look up your refund status, you’ll need:

  • Your Social Security Number 
  • Your filing status (single, married, head of household, etc.)
  • Your exact refund amount

Refund status is available in as little as 24 hours after e-filing! 

(Refund status is available 4 weeks after mailing a paper return.)

State Income Tax Refund

Visit the New Mexico Taxpayer Access System (TAP) and click the Where’s My Refund? link on the right side

To look up your refund status, you’ll need:

  • Your Social Security Number 
  • Your exact refund amount

The State of New Mexico usually processes e-filed returns in 6-8 weeks. Paper returns take up to 12 weeks. Refund status may not be available before your return has been processed.
